Japan Engine Corporation (J-ENG) on Monday (9 March) said it has renewed its licence agreement with Akasaka Diesels Limited (Akasaka) for the manufacture and sale of the UE engines, which are domestically produced marine low-speed, two-stroke engines.
Under the renewed licence agreement, J-ENG has granted Akasaka a new licence to manufacture and sell ammonia-fuelled engines (LSJA series), which J-ENG completed last year, in addition to the latest lineup of heavy fuel oil engines.
J-ENG is also currently developing and manufacturing hydrogen fuelled engines (LSGH series) and has also begun development of methanol fuelled engines (LSJM series).
The company added it will deepen its cooperation with Akasaka, the domestic UE engine licensee which has been licensing the manufacturing and sale of UE engines for many years.
