CNOOC completes bonded LNG bunkering operation at Shenzhen Yantian Port

Company completed its first bonded LNG bunkering operation for the year at Shenzhen Yantian Port Container Terminal by supplying 10,000 m3 of bonded LNG to “CMA CGM Concorde”.

CNOOC Gas & Power Group on Thursday (8 January) said it completed its first bonded LNG bunkering operation for the year at Shenzhen Yantian Port Container Terminal.

The company refuelled CMA CGM Concorde with 10,000 cubic meters (m3) of bonded LNG during the operation on 7 January.

In January 2023, CNOOC Gas & Power Group completed CNOOC’s first international bonded LNG vessel bunkering operation with the refuelling of CMA CGM Concorde at Yantian Port in Shenzhen.

Since then, the company said it has achieved a number of milestones including completing the first cross-customs bonded LNG bunkering operation in Guangdong Province, set a record for the largest single LNG bunkering operation in Hong Kong, helped Guangzhou become the first “terminal and anchorage” international bunkering centre in South China, and built CNOOC’s first shore-based bunkering station.

At the same time, it has achieved the implementation of the “Gasification of the Pearl River” project, normalised international ship bunkering operations, and built a “super bunkering centre” in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

CNOOC Gas & Power Group added its Green Shipping Project Team will focus on technological innovation and service improvement in bunkering.

Early this month, multiple tank trucks were planned to operate in parallel, simultaneously carrying out bunkering and vehicle loading/unloading operations for roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) ships , significantly improving customs clearance efficiency.

In the mid of January, the company added it will conduct the first anchorage bunkering operation in Shenzhen, helping the city build an international bunkering centre combining a terminal and anchorage.
