Glander International Bunkering appoints Michael Cammarata as MD for Florida

As the son of one of the company’s founders, he has spent his entire career in bunkering and this role represents a professional milestone for him.

Glander International Bunkering on Friday (2 January) announced that Michael Cammarata has been appointed Managing Director in its Florida office.

His appointment marks an important new chapter for the company’s long-standing presence in the region.

Cammarata is a well-known and highly respected figure in the bunkering industry. He joined the business in 1991. As the son of one of the company’s founders, he has spent his entire career in bunkering. This role represents a professional milestone for him. It also continues a lifelong journey built on the values and traditions that have shaped the brand for decades.

For more than 30 years, Cammarata has worked closely with Larry Messina. Messina’s leadership has helped shape the Florida office. He has also strengthened relationships across the industry. After 34 years as Managing Director, Messina will step down with full confidence in Cammarata’s ability to lead the office forward.

“After 34 years leading the office, stepping aside is made easier knowing the business is in Michael’s hands,” said Larry Messina.

“He understands this industry, this team, and our customers, and I have complete confidence in his ability to lead the office forward.”

Messina will continue to support the Florida office during the transition. He will remain with Glander International Bunkering until the end of May. He will do so in the role of Manager, New Projects & Strategic Accounts.

Looking ahead, Cammarata highlighted continuity, customer focus, and growth as key priorities for the Florida office: “As Managing Director of our Florida office, I will continue the values and traditions that Larry and I have upheld for more than 30 years. I look forward to working closely with our customers to provide the service and level of expertise the brand has been known for since 1961.

“As we move into this new chapter, my focus remains on driving growth, strengthening relationships, and ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional value to our clients and partners.”
