Maersk completes 17,480 TEU dual-fuel methanol vessel series with final delivery

Built in collaboration with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and Everllence, “Barcelona Maersk” was named in Ulsan, South Korea, by its godmother Berit Vincentz Andersen.

Integrated logistics company A.P. Moller – Maersk (Maersk) on Monday (12 January) said it welcomed its sixth and final vessel in its class of 17,480 TEU methanol dual-fuel vessels to enter its fleet.

Built in collaboration with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and Everllence, Barcelona Maersk was namegiven in Ulsan, South Korea, by its godmother Berit Vincentz Andersen, Senior Communications Advisor to the company’s Fleet Management & Technology team. 

“The naming ceremony was attended by the vessel crew, our site team and partners from the shipyard,” it added.
