Bunker fuel sales at Panama increased by 2.3% in January 2026, according to the latest data from La Autoridad Maritima de Panama, also known as the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA).
Total bunker sales at Panama was 488,661 metric tonnes (mt) in January 2026, compared to sales of 477,900 mt during the similar period in 2025.
In January 2026, the Pacific side of Panama posted bunker sales of 378,626 mt; 237,047 mt of VLSFO, 100,554 mt of RMG 380, 4,773 mt for marine gas oil (MGO), and 36,252 mt of low sulphur marine gas oil (LSMGO) were delivered.
The similar region saw total marine sales of 392,137 mt a year before in January; with VLSFO sales at 246,818 mt, RMG 380 sales at 107,860 mt, MGO sales at 4,244 mt, and 33,215 mt of LSMGO being sold.
Panama’s Atlantic side, meanwhile, recorded total bunker fuel sales of 110,035 during January 2026; the figure comprised 91,557 mt of VLSFO, 3,337 mt of RMG 380, 4,505 mt of MGO, and 10,636 mt of LSMGO.
It saw total sales of 85,763 mt in January a year before; with VLSFO sales of 60,206 mt, RMG 380 sales of 10,003 mt, 6,870 mt of MGO, and LSMGO sales of 8,684 mt.
