Singapore annual bunker fuel sales hit new high in 2025

City-state recorded marine fuel sales of 56.77 million tonnes in 2025, a 3.4% increase from 2024, with continued growth in the use of alternative marine fuels.

Marine fuel sales in Singapore hit a new high at 56.77 million metric tonnes (mt) in 2025, a 3.4% increase from 2024, according to Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) on Tuesday (13 January). 

Singapore also recorded continued growth in the use of alternative marine fuels, which increased to 1.95 million mt in 2025 compared to 1.35 million mt in 2024. 

For December 2025, sales of marine fuel at Singapore port increased by 15% on year.

In total, 5.51 million metric tonnes (mt) (exact 5,508,600 mt) of various marine fuel grades were delivered at the world’s largest bunkering port in December, up from 4.79 million mt (4,790,000 mt) recorded during the similar month in 2024.

Deliveries of marine fuel oil, low sulphur fuel oil, ultra low sulphur fuel oil, marine gas oil and marine diesel oil in December (against on year) recorded respectively 2.12 million mt (+12.8% from 1.88 million mt), 2.83 million mt (+16.5% from 2.43 million mt), 1,400 mt (from zero), 3,200 mt (+500% from 3,400 mt) and zero (from zero).

Bio-blended variants of marine fuel oil, low sulphur fuel oil, ultra low sulphur fuel oil, marine gas oil and marine diesel oil in December, (against on year) recorded respectively 20,400 mt (+70% from 12,000 mt), 70,700 mt (-24.9% from 94,100 mt), zero (from zero), zero (from zero) and zero (from zero). B100 biofuel bunkers, introduced in February last year, recorded no deliveries in December.

LNG and methanol sales were respectively 54,600 mt (+13% from 48,300) and zero (from zero). There were no recorded sales of ammonia for the month and so far in 2025.
