Singapore: Bunker fuel sales soar by 16.5% on year in January 2026

5.23 million mt of various marine fuel grades were delivered at the world’s largest bunkering port in January, up from 4.49 million mt recorded during the similar month in 2025, according to MPA data.

Sales of marine fuel at Singapore port increased by 16.5% on year in January 2026, according to data from Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

In total, 5.23 million metric tonnes (mt) (exact 5,227,070 mt) of various marine fuel grades were delivered at the world’s largest bunkering port in January, up from 4.49 million mt (4,487,900 mt) recorded during the similar month in 2025.

Deliveries of marine fuel oil, low sulphur fuel oil, ultra low sulphur fuel oil, marine gas oil and marine diesel oil in January (against on year) recorded respectively 2.16 million mt (+30.1% from 1.66 million mt), 2.56 million mt (+5.3% from 2.43 million mt), zero (from zero), 2,000 mt (-35.5% from 3,100 mt) and zero (from zero).

Bio-blended variants of marine fuel oil, low sulphur fuel oil, ultra low sulphur fuel oil, marine gas oil and marine diesel oil in January, (against on year) recorded respectively 14,300 mt (-10.6% from 16,000 mt), 46,000 mt (-50% from 92,000 mt), zero (from zero), zero (from zero) and zero (from zero). B100 biofuel bunkers, introduced in February last year, recorded no deliveries in January.

LNG and methanol sales were respectively 42,600 mt (+29.9% from 32,800) and 300 (from zero). There were no recorded sales of ammonia for the month and so far since 2025.
