Vopak facilitates green methanol bunkering supply chain from China to Singapore

Company is facilitating both ends of the bunkering supply chain from Vopak Tianjin to Vopak Penjuru Terminal, in partnership with Singapore’s bunker supplier Global Energy Trading.

Liquid and gas storage and infrastructure solutions provider Vopak on Tuesday (27 January) announced its partnership with Global Energy Trading on facilitating a green methanol supply chain for bunkering from China to Singapore.

Singapore-based bunker supplier Global Energy Trading Pte Ltd is one of the three recipients of Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA)’s green methanol bunkering licence. The methanol bunkering licence is valid for five years, commencing from 1 January 2026.

Vopak said the partnership demonstrated its ability to facilitate both ends of the supply chain with the loading of ISCC EU-certified green methanol at Vopak Tianjin for export and receiving at Vopak Penjuru Terminal, Singapore, ready for bunkering operations.

“Global Energy and Vopak are ready to support Green Methanol bunkering in Singapore,” the company said in a social media post.
