China: CNPC to officially start bonded bunkering operations at Hainan after CNY

‘We are deeply honoured to be able to launch bonded fuel oil supply operations in Hainan during the period of the island’s closure,’ spokesman tells Manifold Times.

PetroChina Gas & Oil Co., Ltd., the listed entity of state-owned PetroChina Gas & Oil Group (CNPC), conducted a marine fuel refilling operation at Hainan, China on Monday (26 January).

A Chinese-flagged 4,500 dwt bunker tanker loaded 180 metric tonnes (mt) of low-sulphur fuel oil (LSFO) and 90 mt of marine gas oil (MGO) to an international vessel at the anchorage site in Yangpu, Hainan, learned Manifold Times.

“We are deeply honoured to be able to launch bonded fuel oil supply operations in Hainan during the period of the island’s closure,” a PetroChina spokesperson told the bunkering publication.

He noted CNPC will officially start bonded bunkering operations to international vessels at Hainan after the Chinese New Year.

“This further expands our company’s marine fuel supply network and enables us to provide high-quality fuel to more customers,” he said.

“This is not only a breakthrough for our business, but also a significant step towards integrating PetroChina deeply into the Hainan Free Trade Zone’s national strategy and serving high-level foreign trade.

“It injects powerful energy into the new journey of the Hainan Free Trade Zone.”
