Chimbusco launches new methanol bunkering vessel in Zhejiang

Launch of the 8,500-dwt ship, “Zhong Ran LV Neng 85”, comes after Chimbusco obtained methanol bunkering licences for Shanghai Port and Ningbo Port.

China Marine Bunker (PetroChina) (Chimbusco) recently said it launched its first bunkering vessel in China to deliver methanol to dual-fuel ships on 23 January.

The 8,500-dwt duplex stainless steel chemical tanker Zhong Ran LV Neng 85 was launched at Taizhou Fangzhen Shipbuilding Wharf in Zhejiang.

The floating out of the ship comes after Chimbusco has obtained methanol bunkering licences for Shanghai Port and Ningbo Port.

Zhu Jian, General Manager of CHIMBUSCO Shipping, and Yu Zairong, General Manager of Hengxing Shipping Group, signed a cooperation agreement on methanol bunkering.

Qin Ling, Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Chimbusco, said: “The successful launch of the Zhong Ran LV Neng 85 vessel is a landmark achievement in deepening green cooperation between the two parties, and will inject new momentum into the promotion of clean marine fuel in the Chinese market.

“In the future, Chimbusco will expand its green marine fuel supply, deepen collaborative innovation, and build a full-chain green service system.”
