COSCO Shipping on Friday (6 March) named and unveiled a new 16,000 TEU methanol dual-fuel container ship built by Yangzhou COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry for COSCO Shipping Lines.
COSCO Shipping Lily is the final ship in the first batch of 16,000 TEU methanol dual-fuel container ship series.
Following the naming of the first vessel, COSCO Shipping Yangpu, on 18 February 2025, the COSCO Shipping Carnation and COSCO Shipping Panama were delivered and put into service within a year, already operating on COSCO Shipping Lines’ Far East-Southwest and Far East-East Coast routes.
The ship is equipped with WinGD’s methanol dual-fuel main engine, methanol dual-fuel generator set, and marine dual-fuel boilers.
After delivery, the COSCO Shipping Lily is expected to be put into service on the South China-Southwest U.S route of the E-commerce Express SEA route, injecting new capacity into the Shanghai-Los Angeles/Long Beach green corridor.
