MPA: Christening ceremony of cruise ship “Disney Adventure” held in Singapore

Earlier in the week, a tabletop exercise was conducted to familiarise teams with emergency procedures, facilitating the vessel’s safe arrival in port and providing operational support.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) on Friday (6 March) said Singapore is proud to be the first Asian home-port of the Disney Adventure, one of the largest ships ever built for Disney Cruise Line.

The vessel will begin its maiden commercial voyage on 10 March 2026, marking a significant milestone for our cruise industry.

At the sidelines of the christening ceremony, MPA Chief Executive, Wee Keong Ang, congratulated Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, and the Disney Cruise Line team on the successful delivery of their largest vessel, and expressed appreciation for their confidence in Singapore’s cruise and port infrastructure.

MPA said it has been working closely with partners, including the Singapore Tourism Board and Disney Cruise Line, as well as the vessel’s flag State and classification society, to ensure the ship’s safety and compliance with international maritime requirements.

Last week, a tabletop exercise was conducted to familiarise teams with emergency procedures, facilitating the vessel’s safe arrival in port and providing operational support to the master and crew onboard.
