Singapore: Panama-flagged tanker “MK Lion” placed under Sheriff’s arrest

Tanker was arrested at 12.53pm on 13 February while Marshall Islands-bulk carrier “Aegir Selmer” was also arrested on the same day at 3.06pm.

Panama-flagged tanker MK Lion was arrested in Singapore waters on Friday (13 February).

The vessel was added to the list of vessels under Sheriff’s arrest in Singapore’s court system. 

According to the list, the vessel was arrested at 12.53pm and the arresting solicitor listed was law firm Ming Law Asia LLC. The ship is currently held at Sudong Special Purpose Anchorage – Grid 4012D. 

No details were provided in the list regarding the reason behind the arrest.

The tanker is listed as part of Singapore-based Lion Great Energy’s fleet. According to the company’s website, Lion Great Energy is a fuel trading company in Singapore with four fuel tankers and one LPG tanker. 

Marshall Islands-bulk carrier Aegir Selmer was also arrested on the same day at 3.06pm. The arresting solicitor listed was DennisMathiew. The ship is currently located at P. Punggol Aggregate T5.
