The UK Treasury’s Office of Financial Sanctions (OFSI) has extended the validity of the general licence which allows for the continuation of business operations with subsidiaries of Russian oil company Lukoil, operating in Bulgaria, according to a recent OFSI notice.
The licence, which was due to expire on 14 February, has been extended until 13 August 2026.
The general licence applies to Lukoil Bulgaria EOOD, Lukoil Neftochim Burgas AD, Lukoil Aviation Bulgaria EOOD and Lukoil Bunker Bulgaria EOOD.
According to its website, Lukoil Bulgaria Bunker is the major physical bunker supplier in Bulgaria, providing a full range of bunker fuels in Varna, Bourgas and in the main Danube river ports.
Manifold Times previously reported Lukoil signed an agreement with US investment company Carlyle on sale of Lukoil International GmbH, a 100% subsidiary of Lukoil which owns international assets of Lukoil Group.
