Several Singapore bunkering firms banded together to raise more than SGD 300,000 to support the Queenstown Fundraising Dinner 2026 on Friday (16 January). In total, the event raised above $1.6 million for charity.
Contributions made during the gathering directly supported Queenstown’s community development and welfare initiatives and programmes focused on caring for seniors, mental wellbeing, and families in need.
The event was graced by Guest of Honour Mr Chan Chun Sing, Coordinating Minister for Public Services, Minister for Defence, Adviser to Tanjong Pagar GRC GROs.
“The initiatives supported reflect the Queenstown community as a ‘We First’ community, ensuring no one is left behind,” Mr Chan said.
“Whether it’s preparing our youth for tomorrow’s challenges, enabling our seniors to age gracefully and actively in familiar surroundings, or providing crucial support to families facing difficulties, these programmes embody the Queenstown spirit of looking out for one another.”
Mr Eric Chua, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Law & Ministry of Social and Family Development, and Adviser to Queenstown SMC Grassroots Organisations, added:
“This gathering represents something beautiful: a ‘We First’ community coming together to create something better. The funds we raise tonight will be touching the lives of our residents from all walks of life.”
Mr Alex Ow Yong, BBM, Honorary Chairman of the Queenstown Citizens’ Consultative Committee and Chairman of the Queenstown Community Development and Welfare Fund, said:
“With a grateful heart, we give thanks to everyone for their generosity and support. It is a joy to witness our community united by care, compassion, and a shared desire to uplift one another.”
Mr Christopher Ng, Chairman of the Queenstown Citizens’ Consultative Committee Organising Committee, expressed his thanks:
“On behalf of the Organising Committee, thank you for your generosity and collective efforts. We are delighted to have reached our fundraising target of one million dollars. These funds will be put to good use for the benefit of the community.”
